Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Ventrio (the "Service") collects, why, and how it's handled. The Service is currently operated by [OPERATOR NAME NOT YET CONFIRMED] ([COUNTRY NOT YET CONFIRMED], [CITY NOT YET CONFIRMED]). For any privacy questions, email support@ventrio.app.

What data we collect

• Signup data: email and password, or — if you sign in with Google — the email, name, and profile data Google shares with us with your consent. • Profile data: display name, interests, and preferred daily study time, which you provide during onboarding. • Learning progress: XP, activity streak, and workshop participation (answers, correctness, response time, points earned) — stored on our servers. • Challenge answers and video reflection notes are stored ONLY locally in your browser (localStorage) and are not kept by us on an ongoing basis — except that challenge answer text is temporarily sent to an AI review service (see "Who we share data with" below). • Technical data: session and authentication cookies, language preference, and standard infrastructure logs (see below).

Why we use this data

To create and secure your account, save your learning progress, power live workshops and leaderboards, improve the educational product, and respond to your support requests.

Legal basis

We process data based on the consent you give at signup (the required checkbox) and when signing in with Google (Google's own consent screen), and to the extent necessary to provide the Service itself.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. To run the Service, we use the following technical partners (processors): • Supabase — database, authentication, and account storage. • Vercel — hosting and delivery of the app; keeps standard server request logs. • Google OAuth — sign-in with your Google account. • YouTube/Google — video lessons are embedded via the YouTube player; once you click "Play," Google may process viewing data according to its own privacy policy. • Anthropic (Claude API) — the text of your challenge answer is temporarily sent to Anthropic for automated AI review and feedback; it is not used by Anthropic to train models under the commercial API, and we do not retain it linked to your identity after review. Each of these partners may process data on servers located outside your country.

International data transfers

Because our processors (Supabase, Vercel, Google, Anthropic) are global services, data may be processed on servers in different countries. We aim to work only with partners that provide an adequate level of data protection.

How long we keep data

We keep account data for as long as your account is active. After account deletion (see the "Delete Account" page), server-side data tied to your profile is removed within a reasonable period. Data saved locally in your browser stays on your device until you clear it yourself.

How we protect data

We use standard security measures (encrypted connections, database-level access restrictions, token-based authorization). No service can guarantee absolute protection against every possible threat, but we aim to follow industry best practices.

Your rights

You can: • request access to your data; • correct inaccurate data — most fields are editable directly in your Profile; • request deletion of your account and associated data. To exercise any of these rights, email support@ventrio.app or use the "Delete Account" page.

Minors

Ventrio is built for users aged 13 and up. We deliberately avoid collecting unnecessary sensitive data (ID numbers, exact home address, payment details) and is not intended for children under 13. If you become aware that a younger child has created an account, please contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. The effective date is shown at the bottom of this page. We'll try to notify you of significant changes through the Service or via the email you registered with.
